Falling, With Style

   Tuesday, March 04, 2003
Shock! Guardian release 'exclusive' details of the reasons behind the famous cliffhanger ending of the Italian Job. Except this has been common knowledge for some time now. Yawn. Of much more 'interest' is the developing picture of the 2003 remake. Jesus, this looks bad; Norton and Wahlberg I can take. But Statham (doing 'token British guy schtick I imagine) Mos Def as 'half-ear' (token "wise-cracking/tough by silent type played by a rapper) and, worse of the lot, Donald Sutherland. Don't get me wrong, I like Sutherland, but cast as 'Stella's father'? Hmmm. Touching romantic sub-plot anyone?
