Tuesday, January 14, 2003 Don't know if I linked to this before, but I only just got round to finishing it myself (only two months after publication). A thoughtful little piece by joe Klein that, to my biased eyes anyway, almost shouts John Kerry.posted by Steve Lavington at 6:39 PM CBS announces cancellation of Buffy! Or does it? When actually read this is a greatly qualified statement, effectively saying that Gellar MIGHT be leaving the program and that network execs are looking into alternatives or replacements. Mind you "Contingency plans evaluated" doesn't have quite the same zing. Check out a similar bit of ill-founded doom-mongering about a popular TV show in the same newspaper last year. The subsequent refutation by the show's creator *amazingly* accuses "British journalists of taking his words out of context".posted by Steve Lavington at 9:16 AM Saturday, January 11, 2003 Well, happy new year to everyone and best wishes for a 2003 sure to be free of misery war and oppression of any kind! Already a good start with the awesome snow-fall in London last Wednesday- there are some perks to being unemployed- and a pop at some admittedly unpaid but still potentially useful work in a publishing company. Oh, and Tom Daschle's out of the running for the Democratic candidacy.posted by Steve Lavington at 1:39 PM |
